Blues or Depression? 03/31/2018 This is the most common question I get asked as a Psychiatrist, whether it is a parent worried about a child, someone worried about a spouse or a friend: when should I worry that they are depressed? When does feeling a little down or a little blue cross into clinical depression? Often people struggle to understand why they or someone they are worried about are depressed and fear the dreaded misconception: what have you got to be depressed about? The reality is depression does not discriminate.
